Our partnership with the HerStory Foundation has led to the launch of the Dolonchapa bus service, dedicated to providing women in Dhaka with a safe and reliable public transportation option, free from the risk of harassment and violence.
A safer journey for all
The Dolonchapa bus service, inaugurated by Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, marks a significant step towards addressing the challenges faced by female commuters. Initially operating on two routes, with plans to expand, this service aims to ensure women's safety and comfort.
Equipped with CCTV cameras and special seats for passengers with disabilities, the buses represent our commitment to a secure and dignified commuting experience for women. Through this initiative, RML and its partners are paving the way for a safer and more equitable public transport system.
